The Center for Dignity in Healthcare for People with Disabilities is hosting two virtual focus groups to explore the experiences and concerns that people with disabilities have as it relates to mental health screeners and assessments. A mental health screening is a test to help find out if you have a mental health condition. A mental health assessment is when a doctor or mental health provider evaluates you to determine if you have a mental health condition and what type of treatment might help you.

The focus group will be conducted through zoom. Each participant will be invited to the zoom room by the researcher. After all participants have entered the room, the meeting will be locked. However, research participants can leave the room at any time. Participants cannot share their screens. As a part of the focus group protocol, the researcher will read the ground rules of the online focus group.
Eligible participants will be compensated for their time, but must participate in the focus group for at least 30 minutes. All participants must be 18 or over, have either an intellectual or developmental disability and have past experience with mental health screeners and/or assessments.
