Below you will find a Mind Map Summary of our response to Section 504 Public Comments. Section 504 is a law that tells employers and organizations that they cannot exclude or deny people with disabilities from receiving their programs or benefits.
The comment that we submitted on changes to Section 504 was very long and had many ideas. This Mind Map Summary is intended to help organize those ideas. We organized the main ideas in sections and colors in this Mind Map Summary to show another way of thinking about what we said would help stop discrimination against people with disabilities. The Mind Map Summary shows 7 key topics from our response to changes to Section 504. These changes are: Expanded Integration Definition, Plain Language Communication, Balancing Judgement and Fairness, Broad Support, Training and Costs, Community Integration, and Healthcare Inclusion.
